Software Engineering Manager at WePay, Inc (Redwood City, CA)

Are you excited by the challenge of scaling a system as well as scaling a team as it goes through hyper growth? WePay is looking for a Software Engineering Manager help lead a team of talented engineers to help continue to grow our engineering team (more than doubling over this year) and handling more transactions than ever as we continue to add partners to our services.

In this role, you will be responsible for helping to build out a robust, scalable core payment system.  You will motivate and guide a team of engineers to build out our core payment system.

WHAT YOU WILL DO

• 
  
• Manage the performance and career development of team of engineers, and own part of products that require design, architecture, and coding.
• 
  
• Be a role model and professional coach for engineers. Inspire and develop team members.
• 
  
• Work with peers across teams to support and leverage a shared technical stack.
• 
   
  
• Manage team to scale distributed systems, make architectural trade-offs applying synchronous and asynchronous design patterns, review code, and deliver with speediness and quality.
• 
  
• Develop multi-tier scalable and reliable payment processing systems.
• 
  
• Produce high-quality software that is unit tested, code reviewed and checked in regularly for continuous integration.
• 
  

WHAT WE ARE LOOKING FOR

• 
  
• Experience in building reliable, scalable, distributed software
• 
  
• Experience with programming languages such as Java, PHP, Python, or C++
• 
  
• Experience managing engineering teams including hiring/termination and performance management
