As a Lead Software QA Engineer at Sysdig your charter is to ensure and improve the quality of our Container Intelligence Platform. This is a newly created and mission-critical role based out of our Belgrade location. We are looking for someone to function as a player-coach, and to play a key role in delivering a high-quality product in a timely fashion while providing training and mentoring to fellow QA team members.
Role Responsibilities:
- Write Test strategy, Test plans for the features, introduce best QA practices
- Use advanced test tools written in Java and Python to cover complex areas of the product
- Help build and mentor a team of QA professionals
- Lead the team members in functional testing
- Participate in Agile based software development and testing
- Actively participate in reviews and planning activities
- Design and develop test plans, test cases from functional and design specifications
- Actively participate in assignment and running of Regression tests before releases
- Collaborate effectively with engineers to solve complex problems
- Strategically test our Monitoring & Security solution
- Work with support and product management to understand customer cases and set priority
Required Qualifications:
- 7+ years of experience in a Software QA role with experience in black box and, or grey box testing
- 2+ years of experience in leading a team
- Hands-on with testing RESTful APIs and web-based User Interface
- Hands-on with Unix, Linux tools
- Well versed with SDLC
- Ability to think outside of the box and be proactive in order to uncover issues during the development phase
- Good understanding of Continuous Integration and Deployment processes
- Strong understanding of cloud-based application deployments and troubleshooting
- Passion for building and delivering robust products
- Results oriented along with a strong customer focus
- Good communication skills
Desired Qualifications:
- Coding experience in Java and/or Python
- Skilled in test frameworks but not limited to Junit, TestNG, PyUnit, etc
- Good understanding of enterprise-class applications (SaaS and On-Premis)
- Experience in creating a microservices environment and reproducing customer problems in that environment
- Knowledge of HTML, CSS, JavaScript
- Unix scripting experience, containerization is a plus
