What are you going to do?
We are a team of data scientists/analysts. We empower different parts of the business by provide insights by collecting, integrating, analyzing and presenting findings. This enables business and IT teams to make well-founded, fact-based decisions. As a data engineer, you will be sitting at the entry point within the flow of data. You will be working with stakeholders throughout the company to optimize our data and data pipeline architecture. Your challenge, as a data engineer, will be to make sure that we can utilize our data in an optimal way to support business decisions, and to improve our product. This includes focusing on delivering real-time insights.
As a data engineer, you are responsible for the development, performance, quality, and scaling of our data solution (data pipelines), with a special focus on data streaming and data quality.
You will be focused on creating data flows for our numerous brands and applications. This includes working with opensource and proprietary technologies such as:
- Subscription/Publish systems such a Kafka and Google’s Pub/Sub
- Stream and batch processing systems such as Apache Flink, Apache Apex, Google’s Data flow
- Large scales warehousing Big Query
You will be facilitating our team of data scientists/analysists to collect data and to operationalize developed models into production. You will be spending ± 10% on private projects to find the next big thing
Skills And Qualifications
You are a devops with at least 2 years of solid experience with a JVM base programminguage (e.g. Java, Scala). You are passionate about data, you have an inquisitive mind and you love to share knowledge.
We consider it a plus if you have experience with:
- Big Data techniques and tools
- Familiar with PHP, Python, or R;
- Google compute engine, AWS, Docker or OpenStack.
