Smove is the leading car sharing technology provider and operator in Asia. Based in Singapore, the company develops its hardware and software systems in house. The Singapore operation has 400+ cars which customers can book online to rent on an hourly basis.
Full control over the technology/ops stack results in the ability to be agile in producing solutions to real world challenges faced by our operations. There is a big focus on IoT, optimisation, algorithms and hardware/software R&D. Smove are testing other markets in the region where our platform can revolutionise the traditional car ownership and car rental models. The company has strategic partnerships with industry heavyweights such as Uber, Grab and local Government.
Smove gives people without cars the ability to hire one when they need it, at short notice from their mobile phone in just 3-5 clicks. They like it because they can pick up the car from an ordinary parking location and drop it off wherever is convenient.
For the future, Smove plans to offer to licence its technology to car fleet operators in urban locations outside Singapore, likely franchising a package to sell mobility as a service, giving operators the ability to create utility-like services for transportation of people & goods anywhere.
Responsibilities
As part of our technology team, you will be responsible for the build, configuration, deployment and support of our cloud infrastructure on AWS.
You will report to the CTO and work closely with our software engineers and heads of product to design secure, scalable, efficient and performant cloud architecture that is the backbone of our 24/7 car sharing operation in Singapore.
We seek applications from individuals with the following skills & experience:
Requirements
- Mandatory 2+ years experience using Amazon Web Services (AWS) and its various components on a daily basis.
- Experience with managing multiple Elastic Beanstalk Environments
- Experience in setting up, maintaining, and monitoring RDS, Lambda, IoT, SQS, API Gateway, CloudFront, S3, IAM, ElastiCache, DynamoDB
- Strong Linux systems administration and scripting skills.
- Experience implementing and maintaining secure and robust environments.
- Strong experience with optimising MySQL.
- Experience in maintaining, monitoring, and scaling high volume, web based platforms.
- Experience with multi region deployments.
- Knowledge of container technologies like Docker.
- Experience with Continuous Integration solutions.
- Good problem solving and organisational skills.
- Experience with automation/configuration management using either Puppet, Chef or an equivalent.
- Fluent in spoken and written English.
- Must be eligible to work in Singapore. This is not a remote position.
