In our Data & Technology department we are responsible for the complete life cycle of our software products. We develop applications for our internal customers in the fields of market research and big data. In our development process we are working test driven and do continuous integration.

Our (Senior) Data Scientists (m/f) will design and build data-driven products in an agile environment, work with large scale retail and consumer data sets, explore new data sources to determine their value for building and improving our products and solutions

Designing, developing and deploying ETL and modeling procedures, model complex interactions to provide business insights for our clients will be part of your day to day duties.

Typically you'll work in cross-functional atmosphere, including working closely with Data Engineers to ensure proper deployment and scalability of the data science solutions. You will mentor other data scientists in algorithms, models and tools to drive efficiency of the team work and meet with clients to help design data science solutions responding to their business needs.

Our new Data Scientist demonstrates the following qualities:

  • Master's degree in Statistics/Mathematics/Physics, Economics/Econometrics, Computer Science or related field

  • 3+ years of professional experience in quantitative data analysis and translating business objectives into actionable analyses

  • Excellent understanding and demonstrated experience of statistical techniques and machine learning algorithms, predictive analytics is a must, Bayesian statistics would be a plus

  • Expert skills in R and/or Python, Scala

  • Experience in working in Big Data environments and using Big Data frameworks (Hive, Spark, Hadoop),

  • Experience with scalable Machine Learning frameworks like H2O or Spark MLlib would be a strong plus

  • A thorough understanding of Data Science use cases in Marketing and Market Research,

  • Experience in turning Data Science ideas and algorithms into scalable products would be a strong plus,

  • The ability to think creatively in addressing real-world business problems analytically, while maintaining the balance between "art & science",

  • Mathematical thinking, strong analytical and problem solving skills, self-motivated, organized

  • Excellent professional communication skills (English, written and oral), German would be a strong plus

  • Commercial understanding and a client focused approach to Data Science
