Java/Python Robotics Software Engineer at JP Morgan Chase (Columbus, OH)

As a member of our Software Engineering Group you will dive head-first into creating innovative solutions that advance businesses and careers. Youll join an inspiring and curious team of technologists dedicated to improving the design, analytics, development, coding, testing and application programming that goes into creating high quality software and new products. Youll be tasked with keeping the team and other key stakeholders up to speed on the progress of whats being developed. Coming in with an understanding of the importance of end-to-end software development-such as Agile frameworks-is key. And best of all, youll be working with and sharing ideas, information and innovation with our global team of technologists from all over the world.

This role requires a wide variety of strengths and capabilities, including:

• Bachelors Degree or Equivalent Experience in Computer Science/Engineering or a related field
• 
  
• Proven accurate code development experience within Java, Python, Bash, Node and Javascript as needed
• 
  
• Proven experience working in an Agile environment and consistently articulating progress, forcus area, and blockers in 30 60 seconds during standup.
• 
  
• Proven experience working and being reliable with JIRA (Create/Maintain/Update/Memorize concise and complete Jiras that describe the Acceptance Criteria for any work assigned, in progress, or ready for demo.)
• 
  
• Proven experience with stakeholder management (Ensure stakeholders agree, and update the Jira with informative comments regularly to avoid folks asking for status.)
• 
  
• Proven team player with collaborative thinking (do good deeds for the team, share in grooming backlog for your team to ensure priorities are correct from a technical SME perspective)
• 
  
• Proven experience working independently (deliver and demo platform in Core Robotics Framework Java/Selenium/Appium, Intelligent Sensors Spark ML/Tensorflow, AI/ML Spark Models - Spark, ELK, OpenAI, weka, deeplearning4, Orchestration/Smart Queue Redis/Dynamo/Jenkins, or REST Microservice Jersey/Swagger, or UI Angular/JavaScript/Node).

• Intermediate experience with mentoring and reviewing the work of junior staff members/peers
• 
  
• Experience with Definition of Done principles (Unit Tests, README, Functional Tests, Green Build, Vetted HL Design, Defined / Vetted Acceptance Criteria, Ease of Use, 12 Factor Principles)
• 
  
• Experience producing critical high bug stories and fixing team-wide critical/high bugs with 24 hours turnaround
• 
  
• Experience participating in design reviews as a leader during team retrospectives by admitting to your part in the failures/successes and holding others accountable/provide kudos for their contribution in the team.

• Proven leadership qualities including holding others accountable and admitting personal contributions/failures when necessary
