The Position
This position offers an exciting opportunity to shape and promote our successful Genedata Biologics product. Genedata Biologics is a first-in-class biologics workflow management platform covering the full biopharma R&D process. With extensive built-in business logic, it works out-of-the-box to support diverse biologics discovery processes. The platform enables fully automated, high-throughput biopharmaceutical discovery workflows and can directly interact with laboratory instruments and robotics equipment. The complex information for each individual sample of every biologics drug candidate is made accessible, editable, and transferable from one scientist to another and from one R&D site to another. By increasing throughput, minimizing data handling errors, and ensuring consistently high-quality standards, Genedata Biologics makes the discovery and development of novel protein-based therapeutics more efficient and helps companies bring better products faster to market.
You will work in a strong, agile, international team with the focus on delivering software that makes a difference in a drug discovery and manufacturing processes, and, subsequently, in patients lives.
As part of the development team, you will be wearing all the hats. You will be supporting users by developing new features, removing complications by designing a meaningful User Experience, saving someone's day by fixing bugs, changing someone's life by understanding their problem and creating a solution that works, saving the support people a lot of trouble by heavily testing our software, teaching new users by writing readable documentation, figuring out why remote streams stop working after 8MB of data, taking your fellow developers to the next level by creating development tools, making complex code understandable, giving power to our customers by designing public APIs. We are looking for developers who are interested in writing beautiful code and build great products. In all these your ideas and your creativity matters.
The position is based at our headquarters in Basel, Switzerland.
Key Responsibilities
- Design, implement, test and maintain the software

- Document and communicate your work to your colleagues and other stakeholders
Your Profile
- BSc, MSc, or Ph.D. in computer science, mathematics, bioinformatics, or related fields, or comparable on-the-job experience
- 3+ years of professional software development experience
- Expert knowledge of Java
- Experience with unit testing and Test Driven Development
- Experience with relevant JEE technologies: JAX-RS, CDI, JPA/Hibernate
- Experience with SQL and relational database systems, preferably Oracle
- Advanced knowledge of algorithms and data structures
- Good written and verbal communication and presentation skills in English
- Strong initiative and dedication to the quality of work
- Motivation to learn continuously
- A background in biology, especially molecular biology or immunology, is a plus
