Why is software engineering important to Thunder?
Thunder has built the very first Experience Cloud. We often push the limits of what can be done in a browser. Thousands of users interact with our platform every day and we strive to make that interaction as seamless as possible. Millions of people around the world see the ads our platform creates. There are a lot of manual processes in the advertising industry that we automate and augment with our platform.
What you would be responsible for:
You would be responsible for leading our efforts in data modeling, ETL development, and data warehousing. While we use a mix of languages (ex. Python, PHP, JavaScript) and tools/technologies (ex. AWS/EC2, Docker, CircleCI), we believe the right engineer can use their experience with any number of similar tools and translate it to success on our team. We care about high quality designs and code backed by review and tests.
What is something you might work on?
- Building technical plan around data design, data extracts and transforms, data quality monitoring, enhancements and ongoing support
- Collaborate with the BI team to collect, analyze, and visualize data gathered by our ad servers
- Scaling our system to handle billions of ad impressions per month
