Ruby Life, a global technology company is looking to hire a Java Developer for a minimum 6 month based in Toronto, to work on a series of upcoming projects within the Digital Media sector.
Your New Company
Ruby Life, a leading technology firm in the digital / online space with are looking to onboard Java/J2EE Developer. This is for a minimum 6 month contract in their Toronto office. They have a great reputation and working culture, highly geared towards collaboration and continuous innovation within their industry.
Your New Role
* You will be reporting into the VP of Development- playing a key role in developing, implementing and overseeing the client's overall vision.
* You will predominantly assist with building a new leading edge technology platform to serve millions of customers located around the world, while maintaining and planning the transition from existing platforms.
* You will bring top level development skills focused on Java 7/8 and Spring boot ecosystem using Lean, Agile methodology and processes.
What You'll Need to Succeed:
* 5+ years of full stack Java technologies, ideally with a recent emphasis on Java 7/8.
* Experience working with Spring Framework (Spring Boot) as well as RDBMS and NoSQL databases.
* Familiarity with unit testing and BDD, and will be a source of knowledge within the team, taking part in code reviews regularly.
* Have a good understanding of code branching, version control and working in different environments (GIT, etc).
* Have experience with new JavaScript frameworks and environments (React, Angular, amongst others).
* Exposure to the latest technologies out there.
* Having a background working in small / mid-sized organizations within a collaborative, Agile environment is very desirable.

The client is offering 6 months contract, with likelihood of extension and a very competitive rate for an incorporated contractor.
