Leaseweb development teams are working on many systems enabling our customers to use our services. To strengthen our teams, we are seeking a Senior Software Developer.
The Department
Our international team at LeaseWeb is in charge of our scalability and automation challenges. The department consists of around 60 techies, working in small scrum teams. Each of the teams is responsible for a different area of our software and infrastructure landscape, covering data center automation, product research & development (CDN, Cloud, Object Storage) and front-end implementations for our websites and customer portal.
We work in a cross functional environment with a DevOps philosophy and te atmosphere is informal and multicultural. There is a clear focus on innovation. Our organizational structure is flat and we value independence and entrepreneurship.

What is the role about?
As Senior Software Developer you are responsible for applying your specialism to support the team with development and R&D. You will work in an Agile self-organized team to define, architect and build new systems to support the organization or our customers.
With your knowledge you work to get our development environment to a higher standard by aligning with the team, doing code reviews and pair programming. You cooperate with other teams to keep dependencies in check and join in architecture discussions.
You will work in an Agile self-organized team to design, implement and support applications, tools and platforms for our customers and the organization.
Technologies you will be working with are (but not limited to) PHP, Symfony, PHPUnit, Jenkins, Git, Chef, Docker, K8s and more.
Our ideal candidate is/has:
- At least 5 years’ experience with software development
- Excellent knowledge of PHP
- Experience with PHP frameworks is a plus (preferably Symfony 2)
- Good understanding of RESTful APIs
- Knowledge of Javascript frameworks is a plus (preferably AngularJS and NodeJS)
- Experience in setting up software architectures
- Experience with Agile development methods such as scrum is a pre
- Strength in problem analysis and conceptual thinking
- Driven to improve quality and prevent incidents.
- Excellent communication skills (in English).
- Willingness to take up 24/7 responsibility for their product (regular on-call duty)
