Full Stack PHP Developer (m/f) at Goodgame Studios (Hamburg, Germany)

As a Full Stack PHP Developer (m/f) you will work in our PHP team to develop, improve and maintain crucial components of our technical ecosystem, including systems for marketing, sales, business development and customer operations. You will be responsible for designing, implementing, and improving the systems as well as ensuring we have maintainable and scalable systems while delivering new features in line with the product strategy. 


Your Job: 



  • You will be implementing and deploying new features in our live systems used by hundreds of thousands of users worldwide each day, as well as in systems used internally or by our business partners

  • You will be responsible for architecture and implementation along the full technology stack, including database layer, backend processing, APIs and user interfaces

  • You will work closely with stakeholders from marketing, sales, business development, customer service and game teams, in order to align on the requirements

  • You are responsible for maintaining and improving the systems, as well as for operating and monitoring, to meet high availability and scalability requirements

  • You will work with PHP 5.6, PHP 7.1, Phalcon 3, Symfony 2, Zend Framework 2 and MySQL, as well as Amazon Web Services and Docker


Your Profile: 



  • You have at least 3 years professional experience in developing web applications and services

  • You have sound knowledge of PHP 5.6 or above, JavaScript and MySQL (experience with NoSQL databases, frontend frameworks and unix shell scripting would be of benefit)

  • You are proficient in object-oriented programming and open to additional programming paradigms

  • You have a firm knowledge of web technologies and standards (e.g. HTML, CSS, HTTP, REST) and experience with design- and architecture patterns

  • You are familiar with concepts of clean code, continuous integration and DevOps

  • You feel responsible for software quality and are familiar with DDD, TDD, pair programming and code reviews

  • You are a team-player and like to think outside the box

  • You have a bachelor’s degree in computer science or equivalent education
