The Crypto Services team at Apple is seeking an exceptional Software Engineering Manager responsible for leading and growing a team of talented developers to design and deliver mission critical applications.

The Crypto Services team is responsible for protecting the cryptographic keys used to secure highly sensitive corporate and customer information, protect customer communications, and secure over a billion Apple devices around the world. The team provides highly-available, fault-tolerant PKI and encryption APIs that are leveraged across various services within Apple.

iPhone, iPad, iOS, macOS, the App Store, iTunes, iCloud, and Apple Pay are a few of Apples products dependent on the cryptographic keys and services managed by the Crypto Services team.

Key Qualifications:
8+ years of industry experience, with 3+ years of management experience leading a software development team
Deep technical understanding and hands-on experience with software development and lifecycle management
Excellent software design, problem solving and debugging skills
Experience deploying services at scale, preferably on the JVM
A security-first mindset
Strong communication and teamwork skills
Experience in building and managing a highly skilled team of software engineers
Skilled at working cross-functionally to achieve project success
Team player focussed on team success above individual achievement
Desire to build, grow and improve a team (manager as a mentor mentality)
Strong project management, communication and organization skills
Ability to manage multiple tasks and projects simultaneously with aggressive deadlines

Description:
The software engineering manager will manage a growing team of software engineers to design and deliver application services focused on encryption and PKI.

Champion world-class software engineering practices and methodologies
Develop software engineering strategy and oversee software architecture
Assess competing demands and opportunities and determine team priorities and product road map
Understand and anticipate internal encryption requirements and deliver services and features that fulfill these requirements
Mentor high-performing software engineers
Foster a team culture of collaboration, debate and innovation
Drive team to consistently deliver quality results

Education:
BS/MS CS/EE or equivalent experience preferred.

Additional Requirements:
Experience with applied cryptography (Encryption, Digital Signatures) is a plus
Deep understanding of PKI is a plus
Current with industry trends and potential threats is a plus
Familiar with network design and troubleshooting network-related issues is a plus
