POSITION PURPOSE
The Project Manager is responsible for supporting teams by independently executing project management activities. Project Managers typically support low complexity projects in a vendor facing capacity.
The Project Manager is responsible for supporting teams by executing project management activities under the supervision of more senior Project Management Team members.
Project Managers create and maintains project plans, develop and communicate status reports, manage issues and risks, and help to control project scope. In addition, they work with project teams and 3rd party vendors to maintain alignment and lead cost-benefit analysis efforts.
MAJOR TASKS, RESPONSIBILITES AND KEY ACCOUNTABILITIES
70% - Delivery & Execution:
Executes project scoping and manages scope for low to medium complexity projects
Documents, reviews and ensures that all quality and change control standards are met
Creates, monitors, tracks, and adjusts project plans based on critical milestones
Conducts budget planning and manages budget
Conducts cost benefit analysis and justification process
Develops and communicates status updates highlighting any potential issues, including schedule, resource, cost, and risks
Documents and applies lessons learned to subsequent projects and regularly contributes suggestions for improvement
Understands organizational goals to apply to project work
Forecasts timelines, budget needs, and resource needs with accuracy
Completes toll gate artifacts (Charter, Business Acceptance Document, etc.)
20% - Monitoring:
Identifies, defines, and makes recommendations to mitigate risks
Manages projects in adherence with The Home Depot's compliance regulations
Works with project teams and 3rd party vendors to ensure critical dependencies remain unthreatened
Captures and drives issues to resolution
10% - Administration & Operations:
Updates The Home Depot systems on a standard cadence (e.g. financials)
Creates, documents, and posts project artifacts to centralized repositories
Manages the purchase order and invoicing process with 3rd party vendors
Facilitates the onboarding and ramp up of new project team members
NATURE AND SCOPE
Typically reports to the Technology Coordination Manager or Sr. Manager.
ENVIRONMENTAL JOB REQUIREMENTS
Environment:
Located in a comfortable indoor area. Any unpleasant conditions would be infrequent and not objectionable.
Travel:
Typically requires overnight travel less than 10% of the time.
Additional Environmental Job Requirements: MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS
Must be eighteen years of age or older.
Must be legally permitted to work in the United States.

Education Required:
The knowledge, skills and abilities typically acquired through the completion of a high school diplomas and/or GED.

Physical Requirements:
Most of the time is spent sitting in a comfortable position and there is frequent opportunity to move about. On rare occasions there may be a need to move or lift light articles.
Additional Qualifications:

1-5 years of relevant work experience
PMP Certification
Experience working as a project manager
Experience with the planning and execution of projects and risk mitigation strategies
Experience with project management execution in a modern software environment via multiple methodologies
Experience with Microsoft Office tools
