Frontend Angular Developer Who Loves Food at Yumpingo (London, UK) (allows remote)

Yumpingo is a food intelligence business that provides deep insights to restaurants based on real-time reviews from diners, collected through our devices at the end of the meal. We already have a fleet of devices being used by consumers right now in some of the most well known branded restaurants across the UK, including Wagamama, Jamie’s Italian and Wahaca.

Yumpingo is based in at our offices in Covent Garden, in a dynamic working environment. Our team culture is to be friendly, to challenge one another respectfully whilst being open to challenge yourself, and to be pragmatic about how to achieve our goals. Everyone in the business is serious about building a global company and is proud of their role in that.

About you

Your challenge is to develop the platform to support a fast-growing business that has an opportunity to transform the eating out sector globally.

Your role will be to join a team of five experienced and talented developers to enable Yumpingo to support one thousand restaurants by the end of this year across the UK and USA. That means broadening the product set to fulfil a diverse range of customer needs and developing systems that scale.

We’re looking for someone whose primary interest is in developing browser applications, initially with Angular 5+. That means both building user interfaces and the logic that powers them. You will be responsible for leading your own work stream, and so must be experienced in building applications from the ground up in a scalable way with testing. Although we currently use Angular for our products we have upcoming new products that may make use of other frameworks, like Vue.js.

Your products will be customer and consumer-facing, helping restaurants to develop their menus and manage their operations, and helping diners find food they love.

You’ll be working across our full product set and throughout the product lifecycle - from ideation, to new features, testing, deployment and bug fixes.

You’ll be part of a growing team and will be able to make the difference. You will have the chance to learn new technologies, so you should have the willingness to learn new skills and extend your knowledge further.

We’re looking for someone technically astute that’s able to communicate with other team members and execs in the business. The opportunity is to shape and build a product used by millions of diners around the world, and help restaurants serve more food people love.

Skills and requirements

We are primarily seeking frontend skills. You must have at least 3-5 years programming experience and a strong background with Angular. We use a lot of TypeScript and you’ll get some exposure and node.js development if you like.

We need to know that you can build apps that will scale, and that you're thorough with your testing and performance.

If you’ve worked with AWS products it would be a bonus, but it’s not a deal breaker.
