The Johns Hopkins University Applied Physics Laboratory (APL), a national leader in scientific research and development, located midway between Baltimore and Washington, DC, is seeking an Unmanned and Autonomous Systems Software Engineer.

Job Summary: Design and develop software and algorithms to support operation of unmanned vehicles, sensors, and autonomous systems.

Duties:
1. Develop and implement software using C/C++, Java, or similar languages, on Windows, Linux, or embedded systems.  Develop and implement algorithms to enable intelligent control of hardware systems including unmanned systems, sensors, and autonomous systems, using feedback from available sensors.  (40%)
2. Develop software to communicate with unmanned systems, sensors, and other hardware to collect, process, and distribute data in real-time. (25%)
3. Integrate and validate software on hardware, assisting resolution of issues among the software, mechanical, and electrical integration subcomponents. (25%)
4. Document activities and results, prepare technical reports, present results, and demonstrate system capabilities to peer review groups, partners, working groups, and sponsors.  (10%)
