The Core Services team within Arm's GPU Software group is expanding their technical and people leadership team, and seek an experienced engineer to take a lead role within the team. You will join an Agile Software development team working on the drivers for the next generation Mali™ mobile GPUs. You will work with the most recent Linux kernels and yet-to-be-published Android versions and will help shape the technologies that the mobile market will see in years to come.
You will be joining a multinational, dynamic and highly motivated software development team within our Media Engineering group. You will provide the foundations that will make the Mali™ implementation of Vulkan, OpenGL and OpenCL simply the best one in the market. Our focus is on performance-critical user and kernel space components that interface with the GPU hardware and firmware, including scheduling and memory management for Linux and Android OS. If you would like to utilise your technical and leadership capabilities to drive existing and future parts of our Mali GPU to execute content as efficiently as possible, this is the opportunity for you.
Your day to day activities will include:
- Providing technical leadership and line management for a few team members
- Participating in all phases of software development - including design, implementation, debugging, testing, code review and documentation
- Writing code for both user and kernel space parts of the driver
- Working closely with other software teams to interface driver components
- Developing both on local platforms (FPGA, silicon, GPU model) and remote device farms, using both stable and under development OS configurations
- Supporting and mentoring other members of the team

What we are looking for
Education & Qualifications:
- Bachelors or Masters Degree (computer science, electronics engineering or similar degree).
Skills & Experience required:
- Experience of technical leading one or more significant projects
- Experience with Linux kernel device driver development
- Good understanding of computer architecture and embedded systems
- Excellent team working skills, self-motivated and results focused
- Practical, organised and analytical approach to work
Desirable:
- Experience or interest in people management
- Familiarity with Android based systems
- Experience of software development for a commercial organsiation
