Sr. Python Developer
Gorilla Logic is working with our client, who is an industry leader in data driven marketing, to help build their team we are looking for highly intelligent and capable Python developer, working on back end development for their big data platform. Based in New York City, New York, this is a unique and highly technical role, requiring extensive python and big data experience. Our environment will require you to work effectively with your teammates, of course. But your real success will be measured by how well you couple critical thinking with self-motivation, enthusiasm and determination.
Responsibilities
- Work as a member of an Agile Software Development Team to help implement new functionality based on business requirements.
- Develop web services and other programs in Python.
- Solve big data challenges. We consume trillions of events per day.
- All development and production processing is done in the cloud. If you are not a cloud computing expert already, you will become one. We use Amazon AWS and the Oracle Cloud.
- Develop in a variety of technologies including Tornado, NumPy, Panda, PostgresSQL, C/C++ and AWS Lambda.
Requirements
- Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science or related field (or equivalent experience)
- 5+ years of backend development experience
- 3+ years of Python development experience is required
- Experience with PostgreSQL is a big plus
- Experience with AWS Lambda and API Gateway is a big plus
- Experience with C and/or C++ is a plus
- Must have strong SQL skills including development of stored procedures, view, tuning, etc.
- Familiarity with Linux is required
- Familiarity with AWS (Amazon Web Services) is preferred
- Must have the ability to work in a dynamic, fast-paced environment
- Strong communication skills to interact with Agile team members
