Improve the learning results of children: that’s what we do at Snappet. We develop smart software that allows teachers and children to get the best results. Our software is used in more than 2800 schools across Netherlands, Germany, France, Italy and Spain and used by more than 220,000 pupils. We value the continuous improvement of our products in order to support all of these schools and pupils.
Only the best people can help us!
As a front-end developer, you will be part of one of our scrum teams. You will implement the complex functionality that our designers have designed. And of course, everything needs to be cross-browser compatible and should be responsive. You need to be sure that everything works as intended even when you change something a couple of months later, writing unit tests is essential. It is not a waste to refactor your code, because you constantly learn new stuff and strive for the best results. It is important to scope your code for a specific functionality, this keeps the application maintainable for you and your teammates.
Each sprint will take 2 weeks. Together with a product owner, tester and other developers, you will make the very best software, driven by the fact that you will be actively contributing to improving education. At the end of each sprint, we do a demo of the results. In addition, we do a retrospective session to look at what can be improved. We’re also continuously improving our developer working environment which consists of a DTAP-street and a build server, because we want to release software fast and often.
On the last Thursday of our sprint, developers are free to do whatever they want during our 'Techie Thursday'. People typically spend their time learning new technologies or collaborating on fun projects which are shared on places like GitHub. This typically leads to useful (and not so useful) tools that we use in house.
