Your responsibilities
You will be building web services and APIs of our Voice Platform, which is used by front-end and mobile engineers. This includes:
- Development of fully-fledged and sustainable applications and APIs in a cross-functional team and carry out or accompany deployments
- Close collaboration with the software architects.
- Proactive presentation of your own proposals regarding solutions and technologies for the development process
- Expansion of our back-end architecture and establishment of software lifecycle and quality assurance processes (unit test, UI test, build, code analysis)
- Assuring knowledge transfer and close collaboration with your colleagues to help everybody to improve
Your background
To excel in this position, you need to have:
- A degree (BA+) in computer science or a completed apprenticeship as IT specialist for application development (IHK) and/or…
- … 5+ years of working experience as back-end engineer
- In-depth knowledge of modern back-end technologies and frameworks (e.g. Python (2/3), MySQL, key-value storage (Redis/Memcache), Message Bus (RabbitMQ/ZeroMQ/ActiveMQ), Elasticsearch, Docker, etc.)
- Experience with Linux/Unix, especially the Debian distribution
- Experience with document-oriented databases (MongoDB/CouchDB)
- Working experience with RVS (git/mercurial)
- Any other OOP language is a plus (PHP/C++)
Additionally, you are:
- Fluent in English and German (written and spoken) – any other language is a plus
- Respectfully interacting with others and willing to work in a team
- An analytical thinker
