With product teams in Austin, Tokyo, Seattle, San Francisco, Singapore and Hyderabad, we are improving people's lives all around the world, one job at a time.

Your job:
The Salesforce team at Indeed leverages Salesforce Sales Cloud and Service Cloud to provide our Sales and Client Success organizations with the capabilities, functionality, automation, and workflows they need to engage with our customers, to provide a great customer experience, and to be effective and productive. We partner closely with these internal customers to identify, plan, design, and implement high-impact projects that leverage all of the capabilities of the Salesforce platform. We are responsible for the core architecture and data of the Salesforce instance and our project teams are cross-functional and collaborative. We follow Agile and iterative processes.

Your job:
As a Salesforce Developer at Indeed, you will be responsible for developing business features and technical capabilities within Indeed's Salesforce instance and related data, services, and applications. You will be highly familiar with our core data models and APIs in Salesforce and internal data systems and how Opportunities, Accounts, Contacts, and Leads map to key business processes in our Sales and Client Success groups. You will drive the implementation and delivery of development projects and work directly with technical leaders as well as Product Managers, Program Managers, and business stakeholders to ensure the success of your projects.

You'll be expected to grow your technical skills and knowledge of the Salesforce platform, learning new Salesforce products and technologies as the team is implementing them. For some projects, you'll also work full-stack on Indeed's internal Java and Python development platform. Your projects will require the creation of new components, data models, and APIs, as well as the addition of new functionality to existing components, data models, and APIs.

Responsibilities:

  • Participate in all phases of the software development life cycle including functional analysis, development, prototyping, coding, testing, deployment, and support.

  • Develop high-quality, scalable applications with Visual force, Apex, and Lightning Components, as well as declarative- and configuration-driven development.

  • Work in the Salesforce.com development environment which includes custom objects, workflows, triggers, the Force.com IDE, migration tools, SOQL and web services/Rest APIs.

  • Integrate salesforce.com with other systems, including Saas applications from other vendors, REST APIs, event-driven systems, or data warehouses.

  • Apply best practices and design patterns to build applications on the Force.com platform.

  • Lead the technical planning and design for medium-sized projects.

  • Provide technical mentorship and feedback to other team members and their projects.

About you:
You enjoy solving complex technical challenges and are able to work independently, but seek out collaboration opportunities and know that good ideas can come from anywhere in the team. You keep up to date with the latest development innovations on the Salesforce platform, but also the latest business capabilities. You appreciate simple solutions to simple problems and are comfortable with "out of the box" approaches, but you're able to build full-code solutions when the project calls for it.

You have strong communication skills and can clearly communicate your ideas to your teammates. You take responsibility for the quality of your work. You enjoy learning and growing your skills, both technical and non-technical.

Requirements:

  • BS in Computer Science or a related area, or relevant work experience.

  • Certified Salesforce Platform Developer II.

  • 5+ years of experience developing applications using Force.com using Apex, including experience using Lightning, Visualforce, ReactJS, or similar front-end technology.

  • Advanced proficiency with Apex code in triggers and controllers.

  • 3+ years of experience with Salesforce.com Web Services APIs - Force.com SOAP, REST-based Web Service APIs, Bulk API, and Metadata API.

Preferred Requirements:

  • Experience integrating Salesforce with 3rd party system using Web services and Appexchange apps

  • Experience with data and schema management - structured & unstructured DBs, SQL and RDBMS technologies, and SOA design principles.

  • Demonstrated experience building business applications and capabilities with Sales Cloud and Service Cloud.

  • Experience and / or certifications with the operation of Salesforce instance for a large Sales team.
