As an industry leader, our cloud-based SaaS product is used by millions of people around the globe and we need to make their experience even more delightful and efficient. While our code base is almost old enough to vote, we are revitalizing it with technologies like Node.js and GraphQL.
SAP Concur Travel enabled more than $30 Billion in travel spend in 2016. We succeed by measuring users’ time on task by the second while striving to reduce it by minutes. To meet that goal, we must redesign our stack and write new code with long-term maintainability and scalability in mind. We have our work cut out for us and are looking for great developers to join our team!
In your first 12 months you will:
- Build: Develop the public data access layer for our online booking tool.
- Ship: The most important thing that we do for the company is ship production software.
- Lead: Learn and mentor others on the team. This can come in the form of code reviews, one on one pairing sessions, group teaching sessions, and more.
Position Requirements
In order to accomplish this, you will need:
- Advanced JavaScript language skills.
- Strong understanding of functional programming techniques.
- Experience with Node.js, Docker and Kubernetes.
- Good instincts for writing decoupled software.
- Solid experience with HTTP concepts and API design.
- Exposure to GraphQL.
What do you need to bring?
- BSCS, BSEE, or equivalent years of work experience
- 4+ years of experience delivering successful web application projects.
- 4+ years of experience with client-side JavaScript. Proficiency with functional programming techniques is highly desirable.
- 3+ years of experience with web servers using technologies like Node.js, Python, Ruby or PHP.
- Experience with architecting patterns for others and supporting them through the usage.
