As a member of one of our Engineering teams, you will contribute to building solutions that use natural language processing, cognitive computing, and artificial intelligence applications or the frameworks and infrastructure that support them.
This Senior Software Engineer will play a key role in designing and implementing components and features of a real-time speech and language processing platform. The Senior Software Engineer works in close collaboration with QA, DevOps, Product Owners, Professional Services, customers and development partners.
Essential Job Functions:

Apply skills in C++, Python and Linux to software product development in an agile framework.

Prototype and evaluate new features and technologies.
-
Invent new functionality through collaboration with the extended Interactions R&D team, with product management, and with customers.

Learn and use new tools and technologies.

Support QA by contributing to test suites, automated test frameworks, and the like.
-
Participate in customer technical support.
Preparation, Knowledge, Skills and Abilities:
Required:
-
B.S.E. or equivalent, in Computer Science, Electrical Engineering or a related field, and a minimum of 6 years relevant work experience
-
MS or PhD, and a minimum of 3 years work experience in software development.
-
Strong development background in C++ and Python, in a linux environment.
-
Fluent with VoIP and related protocols, and associated hardware, including:
-
SIP, RTP, SIPREC, ...
-
VoIP gateways, SBCs, voice switches/routing servers, ACDs, load balancers...
-

Experience with manipulating, and measuring quality of, voice communications, including:
-
Familiarity with concepts and standards such as voice QoS, roundtrip delays, jitter, dropped packets, PESQ, etc.

Buffering, replacing, controlling playback speed, and/or other packet-level and sample-level processing of speech.
-

Good interpersonal and collaboration skills.
-
Proactive, independent problem solver; addresses complex challenges with both focus and curiosity.
Pluses:

Experience developing high-availability systems.

Some knowledge of data analysis or big data engineering
-
Experience with web APIs and protocols
