As we grow, it’s critical that our DevOps Engineers to actively explore new technologies that will further our efforts to unlock open data and make it useful across industries. About the DevOps & Security Team DevOps, the secret sauce between Information Technology and Operations. The true definition of building the plane while flying. The DevOps team has one singular goal; to change and improve the relationship by advocating better communication and collaboration between IT and Operations. They are responsible for maintaining the network, infrastructure, and support of our applications. Our hope is to bring on someone with the will and passion to grow an enterprise organization and build the rest of FiscalNote while we take flight.   About You: - Automate, maintain, and scale a cloud based production environment - Leverage your extensive knowledge of Linux and security practices to ensure that our systems and data are secure - Continually monitor the health and uptime of our production environment and its dependencies - Respond to any infrastructure issues in order to meet customer and internal SLAs - Work in a highly-collaborative, fast-paced environment while maintaining a professional and positive demeanor - Communicate with both technical and non-technical employees across all functional areas - Use continuous deployment tools in order to provide a seamless deployment process to all environments What Sets You Apart: - The ability to code or script in Python, Bash, Perl, Ruby, or Golang - Extensive system administration experience with Linux based systems in a distributed environment - Extensive knowledge of cloud-based computing environments (Amazon AWS preferred) - Understanding of code version control and experience with at least one repository (Github, SVN, Bitbucket, etc.) - Experience with migrations, building, maintaining, and orchestrating containerized environments (Kubernetes, Docker, etc.) - Knowledge and experience in building and maintaining at least one continuous integration/deployment tool (Jenkins, CircleCI, AWS CodeDeploy, etc.) - Proficiency with relational and non-relational databases, including PostgreSQL, MongoDB, MySQL/Aurora, and Amazon Redshift. - Knowledge and experience in building, maintaining, and optimizing Elastic tools including Elasticsearch, Logstash, Kibana, Beats/Filebeat, APM, etc. - Experience configuring, deploying, and supporting at least one networking monitoring tool (DataDog, Prometheus, Thanos, PagerDuty, Grafana, Nagios, etc.) - Knowledge and use of at least one configuration management system (Ansible, Terraform, Terragrunt, Chef, Puppet, etc.) - Comprehension of the design and implementation of networks, subnetting, AWS VPC's, and network peering - Knowledge of security fundamentals across multiple layers of the OSI model - Knowledge and configuration of common core services such as LDAP, DNS, FTP, and dependency management tools such as deb, apt, and yum - A Bachelor's Degree in Computer Science or a related field
