Classic Games is seeking a talented Software Engineer to join our Server team for an internship. We are looking for a passionate developer to help implement server features that impact millions of users.

In addition to the usual technical chops, we want to hear from engineers who have an absolute passion for gaming, programming, and finding simple elegant solutions to complex problems. The candidate should be excited by the idea of working closely with designers to create compelling and epic features that will keep players engaged for years.


  • Work side by side with design, production, QA, and other engineers to solve some of our most complex problems.
  • Collaborate with other engineers on the design and implementation of features.
  • Implement features to improve server reliability, performance, and uptime.
  • Debug and investigate performance of shipped features
  • Analyze existing implementations, identifying root cause of issues, and formulating solution proposals.


  • Currently enrolled in a college or university
  • Returning for at least one more semester or quarter following the summer 2020 internship
  • Able to work fulltime hours for 11 12 weeks at the Blizzard office indicated in this job posting between May 2020 August 2020 or June 2020 September 2020 (group dates depend on when you get out of school)
  • Authorized to work in the US


  • Pursuing a Degree in Computer Science.
  • Proficient in C++
  • Proficient in MySQL
  • Proficient in Python
  • Player-oriented mindset and drive to build operationally excellent services
  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills
  • Good understanding of service architecture
