Digital Hardware Architect at Job Target for Oculii (Beavercreek, OH)

The methodology followed by a Digital Architect isn't that different from a traditional architect. Functional foundation and design are crucial to the overall success of a project. Without a strong foundation, the whole thing crumbles.

You're the lead designer responsible for the development of embedded circuits for a suite of radar sensor products. Not for the faint of heart, you're a continuous learner with a strong dose of curiosity and entrepreneurial spirit!

Oculii is developing high resolution imaging radar software to enable the next generation of autonomous systems. Traditional phased array radars have been used for decades and follow a strict size for performance tradeoff - the larger the sensor aperture, the higher the angular resolution. Oculii's Virtual Aperture Imaging radar software technology fundamentally breaks this tradeoff - enabling its sensors to trade increased compute/processing for angular resolution enhancement with the same physical aperture. Leveraging this technique enables Oculii sensors to extract unprecedented accuracy, range, and 4D positioning information from commodity off the shelf low-cost radar elements, bringing high resolution radar imaging to the next frontier.

What you'll be doing:

  • Component Selection and Schematic Capture

  • Managing PCB Layout Design

  • Prototype bring-up and debugging

  • Functional verification and signal characterization

  • Ensure that designed modules meet specifications and interface correctly with the rest of the system

  • Design process optimization

  • Working with and managing suppliers/manufacturing partners

  • Manufacturing bring up and support

  • 5+ years of hardware design experience

  • Must have hands-on experience in prototype bring-up and debugging, functional verification, and manufacturing support.

  • Experience designing high volume products and dealing with contract manufacturers

  • Experience in Analog Design, Sensor Design, High Speed Serial Interfaces (USB, PCIE, SATA), Parallel memory interfaces (DDR3/GDDR5), Power Management, TI DSP chipsets

Did we mention the perks?

Oculii offers company paid medical/dental/vision insurance, PTO, stock options, and 401k for eligible employees. You'll be joining us in our brand-new facility equipped with snacks (daily lunch!) and ping pong, for when you need to step away and get those creative juices flowing.
