The position will be located at Avis Budget Group's HQ in Parsippany, NJ.


The Senior Director, Global Infrastructure will plan, organize, and direct corporate-wide desktop hardware & software deployment(s), Service Desk support, VIP services, voice/data telecommunications, server administration, storage networks, database administration, operations architecture, messaging, data center operations & production control, information security operations, program management, and disaster recovery.


The Senior Director, Global Infrastructure will:
Own responsibility for managing Americas enterprise technology infrastructure planning, deployment, operations, and support. This includes, but is not limited to, computer operations and production support, systems and database administration, network operations, PC/desktop support and service desk, security, program management office, and disaster recovery.
Own responsibility for the performance of sourcing partners engaged in the delivery of all IT Operations activities, including daily service performance and results based on Service Level Objectives.
Leadership of sourcing partner governance activities based on established standards and partner contracts.
Actively participate in the review of infrastructure projects and of architecture standards. Assist in the evaluation of new projects prior to the approval of projects for implementation into the IT operations environment.
Serve as technical resource for planning in all areas of IT service delivery, including on premise systems (mainframe, distributed, network, etc.) and emerging Cloud based services.
Establish and maintain a trusted advisor role as a Technology Leader.
Ensure proactive maintenance of the technology environment; including compliance with governance and regulatory requirements and security management. Consistently monitor the risks and operations associated with information protection and disaster recovery for critical IT systems.
Promote continuous improvement by leveraging new technology practices, benchmarking, and identifying quality improvement methodologies.
Build, coach, and mentor the IT Team to help build ABG's technical leadership talent pipeline around succession planning.
Provide effective resource management both for internal activities and sourcing partners to proactively balance the support of daily operations and the strategic direction and governance of technology assets.
Provide leadership and work with Team Leaders and functional Staff to ensure a high performance, customer service-oriented work environment that supports achieving IT's and the Company's mission, strategic plan, objectives, and values.
Stay abreast of emerging technologies that will effectively enhance company technology vision and strategy. Assist in the evaluation of technology platforms and the deployment of technology projects and solutions.
Oversee initiatives to proactively support knowledge sharing and professional development within the technology teams.
Participate in the development of (and monitor performance against the) IT Department budget.
Thoroughly understand and assess risk/return profiles of technologies when determining an investment decision.
Collaborate closely with colleagues responsible for application development and enterprise architecture on defining the technology standards and roadmaps.


Qualifications:
Bachelor's degree in business or a related discipline; an Advanced degree would be preferred.
Minimum of 10 years' experience in an IT function, including a minimum of 5 years in an IT management role.
Minimum of 10 years' experience in state of the art data center operations including infrastructure services, operations center, information protection, and network security procedures.
Must have managed a large scale high availability environment for at least 5 years.
Significant people and financial management experience required.
Rental car industry experience and knowledge is a plus.


A valid driver's license is required for all positions. Drug screening is a part of our hiring process.
