  • Leads and ensures agency network systems oversight, planning, development, implementation and maintenance to ensure security, efficiency, availability, stability, and integrity of all agency systems and data.
  • Leads the agency’s network systems security; identifying threats and implementing resolutions to avoid and resolve security breaches.
  • Evaluates network systems availability and stability; proactively and independently addresses issues to avoid downtime; quickly responds to and resolves network outages. 
  • Analyzes current network systems technologies and researches future network systems technologies; ensures the network has the capacity to provide for current and future requirements of the agency.
  • Leads, maintains and performs the implementation/installation of network systems infrastructure; including the installation of servers, routers, switches, firewalls, cables, racks, wireless devices, access points, etc.
  • Evaluates current network information technology policies and procedures; makes recommendations to top management for the creation of new policies and/or amendments to current ones.
  • Conducts business process analyses, needs assessments and preliminary cost/benefit analyses on a variety of business functions in order to align network systems technology solutions with business initiatives.
  • Leads project teams while meeting with decision makers, systems owners, and end users to define business, financial, and operations requirements and goals; aligning with the agency’s technology environment.
  • Identifies software and hardware requirements across the agency; leads in the selection and testing of upgrades and new software and hardware; provides long range plan on how upgrades and new software and hardware will benefit the agency, recommends, implements, tests, provides training and maintains selected software and hardware.
  • Provides high level technical support for end users; works as a member of the agency’s helpdesk team and on-call team providing daily technical support and training.
  • Researches, selects, implements/installs, maintains the agency’s audio/video, telecommunications, VoIP, and video conferencing environments.
EDUCATION/EXPERIENCE:Bachelor's Degree (B.S.) from a four year college in Computer Science or related field and more than four years of experience in network support; or the equivalent combination of education and experience.Required experience:
