The Advertising API team is lean, curious about new technologies, collaborative, and agile with a great spirit for building great products. We are seeking a Software Development Manager that shares our values and vision, responsible for defining and guiding the evolution and growth of our Pathfinder program, specifically focused on building the next generation of advanced advertising tools and SDKs for internal and external use.
Amazon Advertising provides some of Amazon's fastest growing strategic businesses, such as Sponsored Products and Sponsored Brands. Our global advertising tools provide self-service low-latency systems for multiple performance-based advertising programs with large ad inventories. It supports both automated and advertiser-specified optimization controls and features particular integrations for using product data from across the entire Amazon catalog as a source of ad content. Our products are strategically important to our Retail and Marketplace businesses driving long term growth, and as such our organization's initiatives are highly visible to Amazon's executive leadership. We are growing at an unprecedented rate with a seemingly endless range of new opportunities, and have been a broad mandate to aggressively experiment and innovate.
You will manage an engineering team to further develop our advanced advertising tools, such as Bulksheets, and to own the creation of SDKs. The ideal candidate for this position will be comfortable with full stack development teams, with releasing software for external use (via Github or similar), and will enjoy experimenting with new technologies. You will influence the design of our Advertising API. You will have a direct impact on your customers by enabling external parties to advertise on Amazon at scale, enabling them to advertise their brands and products, increase sales, and improve the Amazon shopper experience. Your vision and execution will be a key part of creating a framework for generating SDKs for a RESTful API in multiple languages.
Qualified candidates are able to dive deep with engineers, determine appropriate KPIs for measuring results, and are able to work with external partners.

- Manage a high-performing team of software engineers
- Engage with product managers and business stakeholders and own your backlog
- Influence cross-functional teams to execute on product plans and to deliver results
- Collaborate closely with stakeholders throughout Amazon
- Establish and report on the right metrics for your areas of ownership
