Job Summary

Designs, develops and programs methods, processes, and systems to consolidate and analyze unstructured, diverse “big data” sources to generate actionable insights and solutions. Interacts with business units to identify questions and issues for data analysis and experiments. Develops and codes software programs, algorithms and automated processes to cleanse, integrate and evaluate large datasets from multiple disparate sources. Uses advanced computing methods to apply analytical skills to create predictive or prescriptive models designed to solve business problems. Identifies meaningful insights from large data and metadata sources; interprets and communicates insights and findings from analysis and experiments to business units and application development.

Contributes to the overall strategic vision of the organization and integrates a broad range of ideas regarding architecture. Recognized across the organization for architecture expertise and sought as a resource for resolution of unique or complex architecture problems. Undertakes multiple and highly complex architecture projects involving multiple disciplines and may impact multiple business units.

Job Description


  • Develops hypotheses, approaches (i.e., analytic plans and predictive/prescriptive model development process), predictive or prescriptive models, and solutions to solve problems and increase profitability

  • Lead, define and manage initiatives and projects to develop new architecture models (e.g. Technology Strategies & Roadmaps, architecture positions, enterprise data management and governance)

  • Lead and manage the innovation pipeline and technology scouting processes (experiments, proof of concepts) to ensure forward-looking strategies to support the business strategy

  • Define, assess and evaluate alternative solutions to ensure alignment with strategies, target architectures and Standards evolution

  • Ensure that the landscape for the footprint is up to date and communicated properly across NCR

  • Ensure alignment of projects with agreed Strategic Roadmaps and Target Architectures

  • Oversee the PMO, with PM’s assigned to only strategic end-to-end company level initiatives

  • Align systems, data and solutions to business end-to-end boundaries and build a capable best practice staff of experts in key areas

  • Review of solution architectures against compliance with both existing and emerging standards

  • Evaluate the strategic contribution of applications and alignment with overall strategies and architectures

  • Maintain an accurate inventory of the portfolio of technologies, and a disposition status (ex. contain, maintain, deploy, retire) of all business applications



Qualifications


  • Excellent English oral and written communications skills

  • Must be self-motivated, inquisitive, highly analytical, organized, and detail-oriented with strong time management skills and ability to meet project timelines in a fast-paced environment.

  • Experience with statistical programming environments like R, Python, Matlab, SPSS or SAS

  • Familiar with Hadoop, Pig, Hive, Scope, Cosmos, or similar technologies

  • 10+ years of experience delivering Advanced Analytics solutions; preferably including machine learning

  • Masters or PhD Degree in Computer Science, Data Science, Statistics, Machine Learning, or related degree and applicable experience

  • Bachelors Degree considered with commensurate experience
