We are currently looking for exceptional software and hardware talent to join our Samsung Austin R & D Center (SARC) in Austin, TX and our Advanced Computing Lab (ACL) in San Jose, CA. SARC was established in Austin, TX in 2010 to be one of Samsungs strategic investments in high performance low power ARM based device technology. Our CPU design teams develop IP for Samsung mobile products and their Application Processor (AP). Our GPU design teams, located in Austin (SARC) and San Jose (ACL), are developing a custom GPU that will be deployed in Samsung mobile products.
JOB RESPONSIBILITIES:
This position is for developing a bit-accurate GPU functional simulator in C++/C++11. You will work closely with multiple GPU teams: Architecture, Design, Verification, Compiler, Driver, and Tools/Infrastructure. The candidate will play a central role in coordinating the execution of hardware design development by focusing on unit-level and GPU-level models. The candidate will run associated directed tests that validate (micro-) architecture specifications, find and fix issues in the simulator, and become the golden reference for RTL Verification. In addition, the candidate is expected to design and develop tools and infrastructure to assist in the project execution.
REQUIRED SKILL:
* Strong programming skills in C++/C++11, algorithms, data structures and scripting languages like Python and Bash * Solid understanding in computer architecture and design flow * BS/MS/PhD in Computer Science, or Computer Engineering
PREFERRED SKILLS:
- Functional modeling experience
- Knowledge of GPU and graphics pipelines
- Knowledge of OpenGL(-ES), Vulkan and OpenCL
