Multiple Openings. Software Engineer III (SF Product Guidance) for Wayfair LLC in Boston, MA. Work closely with product owners to perform e-commerce software engineering across multiple platforms; develop scalable solutions and deploy changes to production several times a day; coordinate execution among multiple engineers, providing training and mentoring as needed; design and develop performant PHP and JavaScript code; contribute technical and procedural improvements across our engineering ecosystem; contribute to architectural and code review discussions; demonstrate expertise in debugging and writing code to fix critical bugs; work closely with client-side technology teams (HTML, CSS, JavaScript) to create next-generation features; and perform database design, development, performance optimization, and data ETL in a SQL environment. Requires a Master's degree in Computer Science, Engineering, Information Systems, or related field (willing to accept foreign education equivalent) plus two years' experience in performing PHP and JavaScript design and development or, alternatively, a Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Engineering, Information Systems, (willing to accept foreign education equivalent) and five years' of experience performing PHP and JavaScript design and development. One year of experience must include: Performing web development using PHP, JavaScript and SQL; Performing version control using GIT; Performing design and development using HTML, CSS and JavaScript to create scalable applications; Designing back-end applications using PHP, HTML, and JavaScript; Employing engineering and optimization best practices regarding frontend web standards, code maintainability, page rendering, and browser performance; Developing web applications to ensure cross-browser and cross-platform compatibility; Defining test plans and performing unit integration and codeception testing; Performing SQL database development including designing, queries, triggers and stored procedures, performance tuning, and performing data ETL; Interfacing with business product leaders and engineers to gather requirements and translate requirements into system design; and Performing full-stack web programming using PHP, JavaScript (Redact, Redux), and GraphQL frameworks.
