Responsibilities:
- Support continued development of advanced data systems including cloud data stores and massive data sets, and distributed technologies including queuing & messaging
- Work cross-functionally with AI team to build out machine learning and reasoning system using NLP and KRR, and incorporate results into the software system
- Review and write product documents, including customer facing documents
- Provide ad hoc assistance with new releases, AI components, and coding support
- Contribute ideas to the architecture and design of new components and enhancements to existing components
- Collaborate with domain experts in biology and medicine for requirements and validations
- Work with software engineers to drive regular releases on AWS
Qualifications:
- Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science with a focus on software engineering, database and distributed systems
- 5+ years of hands-on Java experience
- Advanced design patterns knowledge
- Team lead experience or mentorship a plus
- Solid understanding of data-centric systems and top-notch programming experience
- Professional experience building apps or services from the ground up and scaling at an enterprise level
- Practical experience with well-known DBMS systems, e.g. Postgres and Oracle
- Passion for writing clean, tight code that performs well
- Excellent communication skills and the ability to work in a fast-paced environment, where you can dive in and deliver results quickly
- Experience with security of medical data such as HIPAA compliance is a plus, including encrypting data at rest, using SSL, and encrypted storage
