The Role


As a Lead Front End Developer, you’ll be in a visible role where you'll lead small, new team within building out our Superannuation product – Acurity. Our products help millions of Australians with life's big decisions from planning for retirement to securing your financial future. Acurity is used by over 40 leading financial organisations with over 4 million superannuation accounts representing more than $250 billion dollars in funds.



  • We’re reinventing the way people receive financial advice. You’ll lead the development of our brand new, public-facing Robo-Advice solution.

  • You’ll take a lead role in a small AGILE team of 2 / 3 engineers initially.

  • Use a varied stack which includes JavaScript, HTML, CSS, Typescript, Aurelia and Java 8+.

  • Tools include Bamboo, TeamCity, Git, JIRA, IntelliJ, AWS and Terraform

  • Make key technical decisions and influence the direction of the product

  • You’ll practice and champion Test Driven Development (weekly/fortnightly release cycles)

  • Lead reviews of functionality from a technical and security perspective.

  • Collaborate with clients, testing and development teams to clarify technical requirements and implement the required functionality

  • Manage client expectations and assist in influencing decision making

  • Assist and mentor other team members through training and knowledge transfer

  • Champion secure coding practices within the team

  • Possibility of developing your people management skills and responsibilities as we continue to grow

About You



  • Knowledge of Javascript of modern frameworks such as such as React, Angular, Vue, Ember, Typescript, Aurelia and/or Backbone

  • Familiarity with Java

  • Experience with Accessibility, Security, Responsive design, Source control (e.g. GIT/Mercurial)

  • Previous experience in a similar role as a Senior Software Engineer, Lead Developer etc

  • Ability to build solid working relationships with internal staff and clients
