Computershare are currently expanding their development teams and we are looking for a talented Senior .NET Developer to join our new global development function in central Edinburgh.



As a Senior Developer, you will work within a cross-functional technical development team to deliver new or enhanced capabilities across a portfolio of applications and supporting frameworks.

Key Accountabilities




  • Apply technical knowledge and expertise to design, build, test and deploy large and/or complex changes to applications and underlying frameworks to deliver business value, meet stakeholder expectations and manage technical debt.

  • Apply expert knowledge of standards, policies and organisational structure so that you can work both independently and collaboratively with colleagues across CTS and key stakeholders.

  • Ensure the quality of tasks, services and information provided by your team – through the quality of your own work and the support you provide to others - to ensure that your team delivers high-quality, maintainable software which adheres to internal standards and policies.

  • Use your judgement to proactively evaluate and resolve technical challenges and blockers to minimise their impact on the team’s delivery and/or supported products.

  • Research emerging technologies/practices and propose improvements and innovations that would benefit the business e.g. efficiency in the software development process or improved customer experience.




  • Communicate effectively with a variety of technical and non-technical audiences to: share knowledge and complex ideas; provide updates; influence; challenge; and take on feedback.




Skills & Experience



Essential Experience




  • Significant experience of application development and support within a complex enterprise context and with architectures spanning multiple technologies.

  • Experience in an Agile development and/or DevOps environment, encouraging the adoption and continuous improvement of practices including (but not limited to) automation, continuous integration and continuous delivery.

  • An accomplished .NET (C#), VB6, Winforms and SQL developer. May have wider experience of HTML, XML, CSS, VB .NET, SOAP services, MVC, ASP .NET, WCF and/or Microservices.

  • Significant knowledge and experience of applying engineering principles and practices for design, build, test and deployment.



  • Has a strong work ethic and is able to deal with sometimes conflicting priorities.

  • Able to give advice, mentor and pass on knowledge.

  • Curious and continuous learner – investigates, interprets and grasps new concepts.
