What you can expect in this role
- Your responsibilities will include further development and operation of CI/CD pipelines in our business projects; you will plan, control and carry out software deployments
- You’ll be responsible for implementing cross-project standards for logging, monitoring and alerting; and continuously enhance standards together with other engineers and architects
- This also includes advising and supporting the application developers in the areas of CI/CD, logging and monitoring
- You’ll create and further develop automated test sets, including tests for non-functional areas (e.g. load and performance)
- In addition, you’ll test and introduce new components in the tool chain; you maintain the existing tools with updates and patches
- What’s more, you’ll ensure high application availability for our clients within and outside of business hours (on-call duty)
Your essential experience and education
- You have a degree in Media and Computing, Computer Science or Information Technology, or you have completed comparable vocational training with related professional experience
- Ideally, you not only have experience with application development in Java (for example with Spring (Boot), Hibernate, Git or Maven), but have also used tools like GitLab CI, Jenkins, Ansible or Kibana for automation and operation
- In addition, you have experience running Java application servers, Docker, Kubernetes and possibly OpenShift
- You’re well-versed in relational databases such as PostgreSQL, MySQL, and possible also in NoSQL DBMS (for example MongoDB and Cassandra). Ideally, you also have some knowledge of HTML5, CSS and JavaScript (Angular, React, Vue)
- You spent enough time reading Kafka in school, and now you’d rather use Kafka for asynchronous messaging. You’re familiar with JSON and REST APIs
- Your favorite way to collaborate with your team is in Jira, Confluence and Microsoft Teams or Slack
- You can quickly familiarize yourself with complex technical issues and resolve them to improve our systems and procedures
- You communicate with technicians, service providers and users on equal footing, using your fluent German and English
