We have a unique opportunity for an experienced and architecturally-minded Software Engineer in Test to join our team. You will work with modern technologies within a varied, complex and challenging environment - with the rare situation of having a clean slate from which to build upon. Working closely within our Quality team while under the guidance of an established VP of Engineering (ex-Google), this role provides the opportunity to learn from strong technologists within one of Australia’s fastest growing tech startups.



Key responsibilities:



  • Improve engineering velocity and product quality by designing automation roadmaps

  • Build and maintain test tools and automation frameworks across the Airtasker stack

  • Integrate test automation into Airtasker’s development and release processes

  • Evangelise best practices for test automation across the engineering team

  • Work with the quality team to automate manual processes

  • Work closely with development teams to improve product quality and development methodologies related to quality engineering



Key attributes we are looking for:




  • Strong understanding of full stack test automation and efficiencies enabled by

  • Experience in Continuous Testing, Continuous Integration & DevOps practices

  • Experience using a variety of tools and techniques across both backend and frontend test automation (ie. Selenium, mobile automation)

  • Strong software development background and SDLC understanding

  • Proven leadership showing ability to educate and influence seasoned engineers
