As a member of our Software Engineering Group you will dive head-first into creating innovative solutions that advance businesses and careers. Youll join an inspiring and curious team of technologists dedicated to improving the design, analytics, development, coding, testing and application programming that goes into creating high quality software and new products. Youll be tasked with keeping the team and other key stakeholders up to speed on the progress of whats being developed. Coming in with an understanding of the importance of end-to-end software development-such as Agile frameworks-is key. Responsibilities:
- Facilitate the E2E technology delivery supporting reference data needs
- Design and develop solution and framework components on various technologies such as JAVA, Python, Big Data, etc.
- Data analysis of large datasets using Python Pandas/NumPy
- Reconciliation of source data to system generated data
- Responsible for delivering solution design and POCs, where applicable.
- Conduct design reviews and provide input to the design recommendations.
- Developing Functional Specifications, Data Analysis, Business and/or System Process Flows/Data relationship diagrams, and other project deliverables
- Transform abstract design to concrete implementation
- Delivery - including development, testing, deployment & support
- Follow industry and JPMC standards and trends. Monitor implementations to help ensure adherence to established standards.
- Analyze system bottlenecks and propose solutions to eliminate them
- Learn new and cutting edge technologies
Qualifications
- BS/BA Degree in Computer Science or related field
- Four years of application programming and development experience
- Product knowledge developed from experience supporting a financial services company, preferably Markets products
- Proficiency in one or more general purpose programming languages Oracle (or similar RDBMS databases), Java development - Spring, Spring Boot Microservices, Big Data technology - Hadoop, Spark,Cassandra, ETL Tools like Talend, and Python
- Exposure/Experience analyzing data using the Pandas Python and NumPy libraries
- Exposure/Experience with Excel and Excel VBA
- Familiar with programming Financial calculations
- Ability to create SQL queries to support data analysis
- Experience with multi-tier and service oriented architecture
- Familiarity with enterprise source control management tools - GIT, SVN
- Excellent communication skills (written and verbal) and enthusiasm to work on a globally distributed team
- Self-starter, able to work in fast paced agile development environment
- Good organization, prioritization and time management skills
- Strategic thinking, collaboration and consensus building skills
