Your Role:
Tenable is looking for a brilliant Senior Software Engineer to help us build microservices for our cloud-based cyber exposure platform. Your Opportunity:
- Design, develop and support microservices
- Have autonomy and ownership of technical decisions; you will own a set of microservices in a fast-paced, fast evolving environment
- Stay abreast of new technologies and methods for building high quality software (e.g. conferences, meetups) to drive innovation and excellence
- Enjoy city centre location, working for an innovative market leader in the security industry
What you'll need:
- 5+ years Software Engineering experience in API development, using JVM based languages (Java, Groovy)
- Strong design and development skills within a microservices architecture
- Interest/experience in coaching and mentoring Junior & Mid-level Engineers
- Experienced with some, or all of the following: cloud technologies (AWS, Azure), container technologies (e.g. Kubernetes, Docker), provisioning tools (Ansible, Chef, Puppet)
- Strong experience with data storage, search engines and event store/messaging systems (Elasticsearch, PostgreSQL, DynamoDB, Kafka)
- Experience with monitoring and alerting tools (ELK, Datadog, PagerDuty, Splunk, statsd)
- Experience with CI/CD concepts and tools (Jenkins, Bamboo) is a plus
- Exceptional communication skills, both verbal & written English
- BSs in Computer Science or directly related field, or equivalent work experience
- Self-starter with solid expertise in backend technologies
- Experienced in designing high quality services with a great customer experience
- Passionate about delivering results
- Team player in a maturing, growing team
- Participates/leads design of software development initiatives
- Expertly implements designs using state of the art development practices
- Focusses on continuous improvement, exceptional quality and engineering excellence
- Obsessed with quality in areas such as security, reliability, testability and maintainability
- Takes ownership from inception to development, deployment, production support and maintenance
- Appreciates flexible working hours and on-call rotation within highly distributed team across multiple time zones
- Works well cross-functionally within a collaborative and supportive environment
- Experience with Javascript/Node.js is a strong plus
