Sema is an early-stage, Silicon Valley-backed tech startup using cutting-edge machine learning science to transform software maintenance. In other words, we are writing code that fixes code.
Software maintenance can eat up 50-60% of a company’s technology budget, infuriating end users, engineers, and CEOs alike. We are fixing this problem.
Our team includes some of the best software and machine learning researchers and technologists on the planet. We’re looking for an exceptional Senior Software Engineer to join our team.

This position will begin remotely, eventually migrating to one of our hubs, in Baltimore (and/or Southeastern MI). A portion of your compensation will be in equity. Also note, no sponsorship is available. Must be a U.S. Citizen or Green Card Holder. Thank you!
Who you are
Exceptionally curious and continuously learning
Excited about the challenge of building something transformational from the ground up
A “hands on the keyboard” developer
Experience with Cloud development and deployment, preferably Amazon Web Services
Experience developing web-services and APIs
Experience developing Responsive UIs
Senior-level fluency in two or more of the following:
Object-oriented languages (such as Java, C#, C++, Python, etc.)
Other modern programming languages (such as Ruby, JavaScript, Go, etc.)
Familiarity with one or more legacy languages (such as Perl, Fortran, Pascal, Cobol, etc.)
Experience in all phases of software development life cycle, especially
Continuous Integration / Continuous Deployment (CI / CD)
Automated Testing
