We're looking for a Software Test Engineer based in Amman, Jordan in the Quality Engineering Team to develop automated tests and own the quality bar for every aspect of Fetchr's products, from reviewing early requirements and designing testing strategies to building the actual automated test suites, deploying and configuring them. Each day, you will be working closely with developers, product and devops.

What you'll be doing:
The Software Test Engineer at Fetchr will be based in our Amman, Jordan office and you'll be responsible for developing automated test suites for our software. As a Test Engineer, you navigate Fetchr's systems, identify weak spots and constantly design better and creative ways to break software and identify potential problems. The ideal candidate is responsible for defining, coding, testing, debugging, documenting and maintaining complex functions and test scripts. Work closely with development team to develop and maintain standards to ensure quality deliverables. Work independently on assigned tasks.
Your responsibilities will include:
- Work closely with the engineering and product teams to analyze the requirements and help with defining the test criteria.
- Work with the team to develop the automated functional and regression tests using Fetchr’s testing framework.
- Hands-on ability to automate repeated tasks and build test coverage through existing or new infrastructure
- Improve, maintain, and execute automated functional, regression, testing codebase.
- Write moderately complex code/scripts to test systems.
- Maintain a solid understanding of Test workflows, automation best practices, and agile methodologies.
- Maintain proficiency in application and use of systems, tools, and processes within the Technology department.
- Document testing suites and other quality assurance activities.
- Prepare reports to communicate outcomes of quality activities
Required Skills:
- Strong communication skills in both written and verbal English.
- Knowledge of tools, concepts and methodologies of QA
- Strong programming skills with any of the programming languages (Java, Python)
- Excellent fundamental knowledge of data structures, algorithms, and object-oriented design
- Knowledge and experience of MySQL / PostgreSQL
- The ability to deliver under pressure, working alone and within the wider team.
