JOB OVERVIEW
uShip is seeking a talented individual to join our team as a full time Principal Cloud Engineer. This individual will be a part of the uShip IT Operations team. JOB RESPONSIBILITIES:
- Primary Knowledge Resource and Engineer for AWS based platform
- Technical lead / coach for operations teams
- Scripting within AWS SDK and CLI
- Buildout of container services in Docker/Kubernetes
- Available to participate in on-call rotation
- Able to work nights, weekends, or as needed (on a limited basis) to resolve problems or complete projects.
- Reports to the Director of IT
JOB REQUIREMENTS:
- 10 years of experience as a system administrator working with Linux and Windows.
- Minimum two years working hands on in an AWS environment
- Hands on experience with containers (Docker) and container management systems.
- Solid understanding of networking and firewall concepts.
- Strong scripting experience with the AWS SDK and CLI
- Strong technical leadership/coaching skills.
- Ability to communicate in a timely and effective manner.
- Able to work within a small team and independently on projects.
PREFERRED SKILLS:
- Certified in AWS Systems (SysOps, Networking, Architect)
- CDN administration / configuration experience.
- Experience securing cloud-based environments.
