About the role
Arm’s Partner Enablement Group (PEG) has the charter to ensure success for customers by providing timely, leading-edge knowledge through creative support services and developer content. The role of the Applications Engineering Manager/Principal Applications Engineer is to lead a small team of customer facing application engineers based in Austin, TX who deliver support & training services to customers around the globe on Arm architecture, software ecosystem and use of Arm's software development tools.


What will you do every single day?


You will require a mix of broad technical knowledge, analytical and problem-solving skills as well as strong customer facing skills. The role also requires occasional travel to customer sites for delivery of support and training services. You will also be responsible for quality of service delivered by your applications engineering team.








Job Requirements


What skills, experience and qualifications do you need?



  • You will have a University degree in Electrical Engineering, Computer Science, or equivalent (other disciplines with relevant experience will be considered)

  • You will have significant experience handling customer issues, leading from the front with an ability to organize and lead meetings and willingness and desire to be motivated by customer needs, with an aptitude to drive issues to successful closure

  • Team leadership, coaching, performance management and mentoring skills

  • Your experience as an application engineer in a customer facing role will be a huge plus

  • Understanding of microprocessors, interactions between hardware and software, familiarity with Linux/Android/embedded OSes, compilers and software debuggers

  • Proven ability to balance competing priorities and work with peers based in Arm Austin and other Arm offices around the world to continuously improve application engineering processes

  • Your experience in technical training material development and delivery will be an advantage

  • You will have excellent communication and interpersonal skills

  • Experience with Microsoft Dynamics for case management will be a plus
