PURPOSE AND OBJECTIVES
We are building a new Machine Learning development team with the goal of creating cloud-based machine learning services that automate end-to-end business processes relevant for the S/4 Produce and Idea.
As a Software Development Manager, you will work with and support a team composed of data engineers, and backend developers building scalable machine learning services on the SAP Cloud Platform. Your main objective will be to ensure a return on investment for all SAP Produce and Idea customers who invest in Machine Learning. This will be achieved in close collaboration with respective S/4 teams.
EXPECTATIONS AND TASKS
- Create and execute on the vision of Intelligent S/4 in the areas of Produce and Idea.
- Actively drive customer collaboration in alignment with product owner.
- Drive collaboration with the S/4 development teams.
- Help remove organizational impediments.
- Hire and grow a team of smart creatives.
- Communicate across business units.
EDUCATION AND QUALIFICATIONS / SKILLS AND COMPETENCIES
Required
- Masters degree in computer science or a related field
- Proven track record in development of scalable cloud-based data processing systems
- Very good knowledge of relevant technologies, such as: Docker, RabbitMQ/Kafka, MongoDB
- Experience working in continuous delivery and continuous deployment setups
- Excellent German and English communication and language skills
- Very good knowledge of Python
Optional
- PhD degree in operating/database/distributed systems or related field
- Knowledge of cloud-related fault-tolerance issues and their system implications
- Experience in working with Machine Learning frameworks such as: TensorFlow or scikit-learn
- Experience with SAP Program Management tools and processes
WORK EXPERIENCE
- At least 5 years of professional work experience and proven leadership skills.
