Untangle® is seeking a Mid-Level Software Engineer to join our Cloud Engineering team. This is a great role for a versatile full stack developer capable of working on multiple platforms and technology stacks. In this position you will be an integral part of the development of web services and cloud infrastructure to support our product back-end and web console. This will include account and device management, data intelligence services, e-commerce and licensing systems, and integration with 3rd party systems and services. RESPONSIBILITIES
- Develop new services and features for Untangle's product portfolio
- Collaborate with cross-functional teams to define, design, and develop new features and enhancements
- Drive discovery and evaluation of new technologies to maximize development efficiency and performance
- Troubleshoot defects and perform root cause analysis
- Fix bugs and improve system performance
- Unit-test code for robustness, including edge cases, usability, and general reliability
- Provide assistance to QA in creating continuous integration test plans and systems
REQUIRED TECHNICAL SKILLS
- Working knowledge of one or more of the following technologies: C#, Java, PHP
- Font-end development experience (i.e.. HTML, JavaScript, CSS)
- Working knowledge of relational and NoSQL databases (MySQL, Mongo, etc)
- Cross platform web services development experience (REST, JSON, SOAP)
- Solid Dev Ops skills including system deployment and configuration
- Experience in developing systems for high reliability and scalability
- Intrinsic drive towards KISS and DRY principles
DESIRED SKILLS
- Experience with Amazon Web Services
- Experience with ExtJS
- Understanding of network management and security
