We are looking for a talented technical architect to join our development team full time to work in our offices and occasionally on-site with our clients. We need someone who has broad architectural knowledge of how the full stack of a web application comes together, with a rounded appreciation of technologies and approaches.
Some qualifications we are looking for.
- Experience developing applications in Java 1.8 using accepted design patterns and technologies such as Jersey, Jackson, and Spring
- Experience in front-end development, including knowledge of relevant development tools (AngularJS, Node.js, npm, Bower, or React)
- Experience in the design, development, and deployment of large-scale enterprise applications with multiple tiers
- Experience creating architecture or developing web services to integrate applications with databases such as Oracle, MySQL, MongoDB, or Cassandra
- Understanding of cloud-based environments
- Thorough understanding of REST APIs
- Experience with unit and integration testing using tools (Protractor, Jasmine, or Mocha, Chai, and Sinon) and build tools (Gulp, Webpack, or Grunt)
- Extensive experience with version control systems (Git is preferred) and issue tracking systems (JIRA is preferred)
- Highly comfortable with Bash and the command line
- Excellent attention to detail and strong leadership skills, with the ability to engage teams or stakeholders to present and gain support for a design or architectural vision
- Exceptional verbal and written communication skills, as well as presentation skills
- Strong planning, coordination, and estimation skills
- Availability to travel for client engagements, as needed
- Bachelor's Degree plus 4—6 years experience, or 6–8 years proven work experience, or demonstrated ability
Some qualifications we consider a plus.
- Experience with microservices architecture
- Familiarity with continuous Integration processes and tools such as Jenkins or Docker
- Experience with NetflixOSS tools such as Asgard, Eureka, Hystrix, Ribbon, Zuul, or Spinnaker
- Familiarity event-driven architecture
- Familiarity with workflow and development tools such as Confluence, Stash, Github, or Gitflow
