Senior Software Engineer at OurHealth (Indianapolis, IN)

What We're Looking For

We are looking for a Senior Software Engineer to help us radically transform the consumer healthcare experience. Healthcare is broken: data is fragmented, information is scarce, and systems are designed for administrators instead of consumers. Over the last 7 years, we've built a network of on-site and near-site clinics that supports 75,000 members and growing. Members love us (85 NPS!), but we think there's an opportunity to do something even bigger and better.

Our goal is to combine modern physical spaces with polished digital experiences to help our members live healthier, happier lives. If you value collaboration, transparency, endless curiosity, and want to make an impact, come join us!

The Impact You Could Have

  • Implement full-stack solutions to real customer needs using Ruby + Rails, JavaScript + React, Postgres, Redis, and more

  • Cultivate a maintainable code base via automated testing, continuous integration, and code review

  • Help architect our API "backbone" to ensure the right data is available everywhere

  • Teach others -- mentor junior engineers, lead internal lunch-and-learns, and give talks at Meetups and conferences

  • Bring your own ideas to the table and try them out with other continuous learners

We run small, cross-functional teams focused on delivering outcomes rather than shipping features for features' sake. You'll collaborate with everyone from designers to doctors to build great products.

Your Skills

We are looking for T-shaped or paint-drip people -- broadly skilled software engineers who have experience with or excitement about learning some of the following:

  • Client-side / Mobile, especially React and Redux

  • API design and evolution, such as versioning

  • Monitoring, Logging, Alerting, etc

  • Infrastructure-as-code, especially on AWS

  • Release engineering (“release trains,” branching strategies, feature flagging)

Healthcare experience is not required.

We value diversity and actively seek team members who bring new perspectives to both team and company culture. We strive to be inclusive and build the best team, not the best collection of individuals.

The Perks

  • Highly competitive salary and bonus

  • A shiny new computer and whatever else you need to do your best work

  • Access to our fantastic network of clinics

  • A flexible schedule that accommodates occasional remote work

  • PTO and holidays

  • Full medical, dental and vision insurance

  • 401(k) with company match
