PURPOSE
Designs develops maintains and supports functionality and features in modules within an application or system using existing and emerging technology platforms.
KEY RESPONSIBILITIES
Writes and delivers code for functionality and features in application modules and debugs existing code.
Follows coding guidelines and practices and all technical processes.
Develops and validates estimates for technical work that will be undertaken.
Participates in analysis of requirements for designing new application and system features and also analyzes and triages defects on an as needed basis.

Qualifications
EXPERIENCE
- Minimum of 3 years software engineering experience in a development capacity preferably using a mainstream development Object Orientated language C#.
KNOWLEDGE & SKILLS
KNOWLEDGE & SKILLS
- Intermediate knowledge of C#, HTML, JavaScript, JQuery, AJAX, SQL.
- Knowledge of mobile application development (iOS or Android acceptable)
- Good knowledge of SOA: XML Web Services SOAP.
- Ability to interpret VB6 and translate to C# and JavaScript.
- Ability to perform Object Oriented code design.
- Ability to apply IT security concepts while designing and developing code .
- Ability to develop code to interface to one or more RDBMS database.
- Demonstrate some understanding of networking concepts.
- Demonstrate an understanding of application design concepts: object-oriented design patterns ASP.NET.
- Demonstrate the ability to use DataSet SQL stored procedures independently.
- Good knowledge of version control / source code management.
- Sound knowledge of and ability to apply standard software development principles theories concepts and techniques.
- Ability to develop high-level designs for small to medium systems or features within large applications.
- Demonstrate an understanding of trade-offs and risks with programming choices.
- Demonstrate an understanding of SITA methodologies and practices.
- Ability to work well both independently or as a member of a team.
