As a member of the AreaX Engineering team you will be instrumental in bringing ideas to reality through research, design and build. In this role you will have the unique opportunity to shape the digital products of the future and play a pivotal role in driving product incubation and acceleration at JPM. You will work closely with our partners across various functions within JPM including engineering, trading, banking, legal and compliance.

You will be expected to:
* Architect, design, and develop digital solutions to new ideas and business concepts
* Research technical options and form objective conclusions to make a decision
* Communicate complex ideas clearly and concisely to audiences with varying degrees of expertise

Basic Qualifications:
* BS degree or higher in Computer Science, Engineering or related field
* 5+ years of hands on professional software development experience
* 3+ years of hands on professional experience with at least one modern language such as Java, Python or JavaScript/TypeScript including object-oriented design
* 2+ years of hands on professional experience in defining system design and architecture for a range of situations
* Comfortable working with ambiguous/undefined problems and has ability to think abstractly
* Strong problem-solving skills

Preferred Qualifications:
* Hands on experience with frameworks in your language of choice e.g. spring boot/micronaut, react/angular
* Knowledge of cloud platforms (AWS, GCP, CloudFoundry)
* Knowledge of professional software engineering best practices for early stage digital product development life cycle, including coding standards, code reviews, source control management, build processes and testing
