The Unix/Linux Admin shall provide day to day administration on the Unix/Linux networks, including operating systems, installation and troubleshooting, disk management, backup and recover, network resource management, user support and application installation and troubleshooting.
Required:
Candidates must already possess a current and active TS/SCI with Poly clearance to be considered for this position.
- A minimum of six (6) years experience working in an IT environment fielding trouble calls from the Unix/Linux user base.
- Providing level one IT support to include establishing user-names, passwords, establishing permissions and assigning trouble tickets to the on site engineers or system administrators.
- Security testing and risk mitigation.
- Building Linux server baselines.
- Building Linux workstation baselines.
- Hardening Linux server installations.
- SUN Server Hardware.
- Writing Unix/Linux Shell scripts.
- Patching Unix/Linux Servers.
- Generating and managing user accounts, read-write permissions and to read and understand workstation and server log files.
- Bachelors degree in computer science or related field.
