UI/UX Designer at Higher Logic (Arlington, VA)

As a UI/UX Designer for Higher Logic’s suite of products you know how to engage in a design process that leads to successful outcomes for our customers. You are knowledgeable about user interface standards and conventions. You can envision the dynamic nature of our products and the functional flow of each. You understand user research methodologies and know which one is appropriate for a given project. Your mindset adapts to each stage of design: divergent thinking during ideation and convergent thinking when it’s time to deliver assets to product and engineering teams. You are able to empathize with the user and employ a design thinking process to consider each step of their interaction. You can communicate designs to non-design audiences including product managers, engineers, and business stakeholders. This role will report to the Manager of User Experience.

Responsibilities:

  • Own design projects which support major features and critical functionality.

  • Design wireframes, high-fidelity user interfaces, and functional prototypes.

  • Work closely with our product managers and engineers to produce modern designs that exceed customer expectations.

  • Collaborate with other designers on the team to envision and iterate on high-level concepts and maintain Higher Logic’s design system.

  • Conduct user research utilizing qualitative research methods.

  • Assist in product discovery including customer interviews, analytics, and prototype testing.

Qualifications

  • 2+ years of UX/UI design and interactive work.

  • A solid design background with an obsessive eye for visual and interaction details.

  • Experience designing responsive web apps.

  • Ability to understand high level product strategy and vision.

  • Self-motivated and able to efficiently run with a project without close supervision.

  • Basic knowledge of HTML and CSS.

  • Expertise with UI design and prototyping tools such as Sketch, Adobe XD, InVision and Figma.

  • Excellent communication skills - you should be able to clearly articulate your design decisions to non-design audiences.

  • You must include your portfolio or other samples of your work.

Preferred Qualifications

  • Experience with content management systems.

  • Knowledge of the latest design and technology trends and their impact.

  • Experience delivering designs in an agile environment.

  • Familiarity with popular JavaScript frameworks.
